Arrow Cubes
CopyrightŠ June 2003 a PyroMyth game for 2 players
Required Materials
ˇ 4x4 board
ˇ Two Arrow cubes one Red, one Black described below
Goal
Capture your opponents cube
or force them to stalemate you.

Set Up
Each player will orient the
cube as they like and place them on opposite corners or the board keeping the
starting orientation hidden from the other until both are placed.
Simultaneously the cubes are reveled; the starting player is determined by the
arrows on the top face of each cube.
If both cubes arrows are
oriented along the same axis then Black moves first, if the arrows are opposed
i.e. not oriented along the same axis Red plays first.
I hope it will be obvious
that the arrows should always be pointing in one of the 4 cardinal directions
N, S, E, or W in relation with the board.
How to Play
Each turn a player must move
their cube by tipping it over to an open square with the following
restrictions.
You may not move back to the
last square you occupied.
You may not move into a
square that your opponent is threatening.
Capturing your Opponent
A player captures their
opponent when after making a legal move they are adjacent to the enemy piece
and the arrow on the top face of their cube is pointing towards them.
